The new AquaClean Alba shower toilet is not only affordable, but also high quality. This is thanks to a development team that pays close attention to even the smallest detail.

A complete shower toilet for a small surcharge: the new Geberit AquaClean Alba makes cleaning with water affordable and combines an attractive price with the highest levels of quality. This is the result of significant investments at headquarters in Rapperswil-Jona (CH).

Every hose, every screw, even the smallest part of the shower toilet is scrutinised by the interdisciplinary Geberit team, who have to focus on the essentials when it comes to functionality. “We were restricted by costs, which released a lot of creativity,” says David Gmür, Head of Product Development for AquaClean. “We had to work out many things from scratch.” This includes the control platform, which is newly developed. “This is a real technological breakthrough. This also applies to the firmware on the device,” says Andrea Bühlmann, development engineer for electronic products.

Following development, the AquaClean Alba then enters the testing phase. “We had to go all out when putting everything through its paces,” says David Gmür. The extension and retraction of the spray arm and the spray functionality are tested 50,000 times on several devices, for example.

Once this is completed, the new Alba shower toilet is ready for mass production. However, quality control also continues after the launch: devices regularly undergo endurance tests before series production – better safe than sorry.
