We are all familiar with the problem. When unpacking a product, you wonder about the large boxes, lots of paper and separately packaged items. Geberit is addressing this topic step by step.

New packaging strategy

2023 sees Geberit launch a new packaging strategy. The goal is to continuously reduce packaging material and increase the share of recycled material in plastic packaging.

Geberit products are well-packaged. “The functionality of the packaging is paramount: the product has to reach customers safely and undamaged,” says Konstanze Smith, packaging engineer at Geberit. Nevertheless, the question arises as to whether the boxes really have to be so bulky.

One-third less material

“No,” is the answer when it comes to packaging for the Geberit AquaClean shower toilets. The new boxes and protective liners made of corrugated cardboard require over a third less material than the old packaging. This also reduces the CO2 footprint of the products. Želimir Blažević, Head Projects, is pleased: “Thanks to good cooperation with the supplier, we managed to produce the same quality with less material.”
