All change in Lichtenstein

The new building at the Geberit plant in Lichtenstein (DE) is now occupied. A new production line is used to manufacture Duofix frames. And a new Plant Manager marks the beginning of a new era.
The diggers start work at the Geberit plant in Lichtenstein in spring 2022. Two years later, and the building extension is occupied. This mammoth project not only increases production space, but also brings a host of other possibilities with a wing for administration, sales and a company restaurant.
New line
From January 2025 onwards, the blue Duofix frames will be manufactured on a new production line in the new building. The line is special in many ways: at just over 180 metres, it is the longest continuous production line at Geberit. Measuring just over 74 metres in length, the largest element is the powder coating plant that gives the frame its blue colour. The entire plant is fully automated. “The product is manufactured without anyone laying a finger on it,” says the new Plant Manager Michiel Willi.

Change at the top
At the same time, it is the end of an era: Lichtenstein’s Plant Manager Thomas Schweikart is retiring and handing over the reins to Michiel Willi. The handover is going seamlessly: Michiel Willi joins the Geberit plant in Lichtenstein just over four years ago after already working in Shanghai and the German plants in Langenfeld and Wesel. The initial situation couldn’t be better. With a new building, new line and new boss, the highly motivated team from Lichtenstein can look to the future with confidence.
