Dream job in Dubai
International Sales Engineers are often on the move. For Remo Hirschi, this is what makes his work exciting as he is able to optimally combine his passion for travel with his sanitary expertise. He was able to pull off a real coup in Dubai.
“I always wanted to work in an international environment, thus combining my passion for travel and work,” says Remo Hirschi. Geberit International Sales AG gave him the opportunity. He started working in Rapperswil-Jona (CH) as International Sales Engineer in 2014, before earning his spurs in the North Africa region.
An important part of my work is transferring know-how to construction workers, who in some cases are unskilled.
The Swiss native is among those responsible for establishing Geberit in North African countries. He flies to the region several times a year, building up a distribution network with local colleagues, making important contacts and presenting Geberit products. “An important part of my work is transferring know-how to construction workers, who in some cases are unskilled,” he says. In training them, he reinforces the partnership between Geberit and its customers.
Each day brings new challenges
In 2019, Remo Hirschi was given the opportunity to change to the Gulf Region for three years. Without further ado, he packed his bags and found himself in the Geberit office in the desert city of Dubai. Hirschi and his team were soon able to pull off a real coup: “We were able to implement the first project with SuperTube, which was a real milestone!” he explains. The drainage system is particularly suitable for use in tall buildings.
Remo Hirschi comments: “At Geberit International Sales AG, no two days are alike. Work is varied and exciting. Anyone looking for a job that brings new challenges every day has come to the right place.”
