Now he’s learning Arabic
From the north-east of India via India’s “Silicon Valley” in Bangalore to Dubai – engineer Vineet Kumar Bhaskar has seen and experienced a lot during his career at Geberit.
Vineet Kumar Bhaskar is spurred on by change. This is why he relocated from Bihar in north-east India to India’s “Silicon Valley” in Bangalore in the south of the country, and from there on to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Changes of scenery like this mean some new adventures. Those who take this step have to become part of a new culture. Learning Arabic is new on Vineet’s to-do list. “I already understand the language quite well,” says the 35-year-old, “but I can’t really converse yet.” The goal is for this to change in the next two years.
A dynamic market
Knowledge of Arabic is admittedly not necessary in Dubai, where Vineet Kumar Bhaskar has lived and worked since 2019. “Almost everyone speaks English,” he says. For the past two years, the Technical Sales Engineer has also been looking after other markets in the Gulf region, such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The goal is to establish Geberit piping systems in these markets. “It’s an advantage to be able to communicate with customers in their own language,” says the Indian native.
Support from the employer
Geberit also played a large part in Vineet Kumar Bhaskar’s successful relocation. “Geberit supported us every step of the way during our initial time here.” It is difficult for new arrivals to find a flat in Dubai. Thanks to Geberit, he moved into a place with his family after just one month.
