Vilnius aims high
A city with great prospects also needs large buildings. The two skyscrapers of the "Skylum" project have kicked things off in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius.
As demonstrated in city ratings, Vilnius is considered one of the global cities of the future. The Baltic city is worth living in – which brings investors onto the scene. Skylum is the best example of this. Two 70-metre-high towers with 887 apartments are to bring life to a brand-new quarter on the outskirts of the city. The major project will significantly change the appearance of the city.

GEBERIT KNOW-HOW
- SuperTube drainage system
- PE drainage system
A premiere for SuperTube
The SuperTube drainage system was used in both high-rise buildings for the first time in Lithuania. The Geberit system replaces conventional drainage methods. Instead of different stacks for waste water and ventilation, a single stack is sufficient. Thanks to water rotation in the pipe, an air column is created in the middle. This combines the function of all previous stacks in one – and saves material and space significantly.
Bringing sanitary engineers on board
SuperTube is still largely unknown in the Baltics. Vytautas Dinda, Technical Advisor at Geberit in Vilnius, says: “Of course, it is a challenge to enter the market with a completely new drainage system.” Several consultations and training courses were needed to get sanitary engineers on board. However, positioning the system with engineers was only the first step. For Vytautas Dinda, an in-depth consultation is also part of the all-round service offered during the product introduction. “I went to the construction site myself several times to train the plumbers and answer any questions.”
