The technical unit is at the heart of a shower toilet. It is assembled at Geberit headquarters in Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland. The process combines teamwork and craftsmanship.

The new Geberit AquaClean Alba is the perfect entry-level shower toilet model. While it is found in the lower price class, it offers all important functions for added hygiene after using the toilet.
To kick things off, Jasminka Rodojković positions an empty housing on a mobile stand. Just over 15 minutes later, she removes the complete housing from a test cell. Eleven ticks on the display indicate that everything is installed correctly and this technical unit for the AquaClean Alba shower toilet is working.
From start to finish, Jasminka Rodojković installs many different screws, hoses and cables. The first step is a rubber washer so that no flush water penetrates the technical unit. This is followed by the spray arm, heater and control unit.
Hand in hand
Whether components are drilled, connected or clamped – everything is carried out by hand. Today, Jasminka Rodojković is working with Vladimira Magnino and Tufan Düman on the assembly line. They keep track of each other’s progress, take over from each other, give encouragement and assist when needed.
“You have to have the work steps in your head, in the right order,” says Zelimir Blazević, Head of Projects at Geberit Apparate AG, where the shower toilets are assembled. The symbiosis between employees and work steps is all a matter of practice – everything runs smoothly with this trio.
Comprehensive final check
A test cell at the end of the line is used for the final inspection. “If there is a fault, the employees check whether it can be rectified quickly. If the worst comes to the worst, the unit is sent on to quality control for detailed inspection.” Faults are a rare occurrence: almost all assembled units pass the test with all green check marks on the first attempt.
