Learn, grow, stay

Geberit is an integral part of Stefanie Giger’s career. After 15 years of experience at home and abroad, she is now Head Projects at the shower toilet assembly plant in Switzerland.
One name is a constant throughout Stefanie Giger’s career – Geberit. She starts four years of vocational training as a design engineer at headquarters in Rapperswil-Jona (CH) in 2009. She then applies for a position in-house to take part in a six-month internship abroad. The prospect of discovering a foreign country is appealing.
Looking at the big picture
The internship takes her to the Geberit production plant in Shanghai, where she is involved in product developments. While this is an exciting time, she soon finds out that overarching interrelationships and higher-level processes interest her more than the technical details. “I want to understand the big picture.”
Back in Switzerland, she decides to study industrial engineering at the University of Applied Sciences OST in Rapperswil-Jona. “I learned how to develop methodological skills and think in a connected way.” Geberit supports her with a grant that allows her to remain at the company.
After receiving her master’s degree, she returns to Geberit as a project manager. Just under five years later, she takes on a management position as Head Projects at the shower toilet assembly plant at headquarters in Rapperswil-Jona at the end of 2024. The team of the 29-year-old consists of project managers, production engineers and logistics administration. “I have always felt comfortable and supported at Geberit. The doors are always open.”
