A new business hub is emerging in Ljubljana. DCB Montana, designed as a consistently sustainable office building, marks the starting point – with striking architecture, water-saving WC system and soundproof drainage.

Nothing less than creating one of the most innovative business hubs in Central Europe – Ljubljana (SI) has big ambitions for the Moste district.
One of the first milestones is the DCB Montana office building – a rhombus-shaped statement spanning ten floors, designed by the Barcelona-based studio BAX. Communal spaces, terraces offering spectacular views over the city and the Alps, and an atrium all create connections and transparency. The dark glass facade is clad with white sun-protection slats, which lend the building a delicate appearance.
Focus on sustainability
DCB Montana is one of the first office buildings in Slovenia to be consistently designed with sustainability in mind – with a gold certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and energy efficiency class A1. “The exhaust air is channelled into the atrium, where the chimney effect drives it upward. At roof level, energy is then recovered,” explains Boris Bezan, co-founder of BAX.
Geberit contributes to sustainability with the water-saving WC system and sound-insulated drainage pipes. The Geberit Sovent fitting is also used: by setting the waste water in the stack in rotation, an air column is created – eliminating the need for an additional ventilation pipe and saving valuable space.
