Faster with Mapress Therm
Mapress Therm establishes itself in the Hungarian project business. The new supply system for cooling and heating systems is increasingly being used in large construction projects – for example, at the University of Debrecen.

The stainless steel system is a corrosion-resistant yet cost-effective, solution for applications with closed heating and cooling circuits where moisture cannot always be avoided.
Project business at Geberit in Hungary is booming. Geberit is on hand wherever major building work is taking place – whether in residential, public or industrial construction. László Ratulovszky and his team work together directly with sanitary engineers, architecture offices and construction companies – from planning all the way through to installation. The Hungarian project team is successful: time and again, it makes sure that Geberit products are found in front of and behind the wall at major construction projects.
If you drive with László Ratulovszky through Budapest or out in the country, he constantly points to new buildings and says: “Our toilets and washbasins are in there.” Or: “Pluvia is installed on that roof.”
Mapress Therm impresses
One of the team’s flagship projects is the University of Debrecen – Hungary’s oldest institution of higher learning in the country’s second-largest city. The 20 buildings on campus are being gradually renovated. This includes new heating and cooling systems. “This is one of the first projects with Mapress Therm in the whole country,” says László Ratulovszky. And things are not done by halves here: 300 metres of Mapress pipes are being laid in the first building alone.
The plumbers have to complete their work in a tight time frame, which means an efficient piping system is needed. “Mapress pressing systems can be installed much more efficiently than welded systems. And in contrast to pipes made of carbon steel, the stainless steel pipes on Mapress Therm do not have to be reworked to prevent corrosion.” All in all, the time savings are a convincing argument in favour of the brand-new system. As a result, the plumbers promptly decide that the system should also be used in the other university buildings.
